Mendoza’s Central Park
Project: BFS4 Architects (Becker-Ferrari-Fuentes)
Mendoza. Argentina, 2005
During all of 2005 and part of 2006, I had the privilege of working with a marvelous group of people, including the project designers, the people from the construction company that hired me and the county employees. I was in charge of the technical direction of the landscaping for the park’s 7 hectares, from the very beginning, all the way to inauguration day. My children grew up playing there, as the park grew, too. The location went from being practically a landfill site and a dangerous area for the neighbors, to being a place filled with life, color, and laughter, a place of gathering and inclusion, and I am profoundly grateful for having had the chance to be a part of this project.
